Exciting Photography & Fashion Campaign Requires Voluntary Project Manager

An exciting voluntary opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to help lead a prestigious women-centered campaign that combines fashion and photography with a dynamic charitable cause.

 

There may be an opportunity for this to turn into a paid position for the right candidate.

 

This feelgood campaign involves an international photography exhibition and launch event in Spring 2016.

This exciting project seeks to inform and inspire the public about the empowering effects of investing in women entrepreneurs in developing countries. The UK-based social enterprises RubyMoon and FotoDocument are collaborating with leading charity CARE International to create a visual arts and fashion campaign which raises awareness about the social and economic benefits of microfinance loans.

 

The campaign will offer the Project Manager the opportunity to:

 

• work on a campaign which will reach hundreds of thousands of people through through the photography exhibition and VIP launch party, online, social media and national press coverage

• align with a good cause which directly empowers women in the developing world – women helping women / Look Good Do Good

 

This voluntary position involves 1 day per week minimum from 1st April until Spring of 2016 and comprises:

 

 Event management

 Co-ordinating multiple partnerships

 Driving a timeline and milestones

 Helping to raising sponsorship

 Budget control

 Leading the communication to stakeholders

 

The ideal candidate should hold the belief that poverty can be alleviated through enterprise and would ideally have an interest in social enterprise, documentary photography and/or fashion.

 

Micro finance refers to financial services for poor people including the provision of loans to set up sustainable businesses. Microfinance is now widely recognised as a powerful solution to alleviating poverty among the working poor, especially women and children. The ultimate aim of the campaign is to increase the number of loans to women entrepreneurs through profits from selling swimwear/photographs or by making loans directly, whilst elevating the profile of the partners and sponsors.
